"Outlander" Season 3 spoilers reveal that the upcoming season will closely follow that of Diana Gabaldon's third book titled "Voyager." In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, executive producer Maril Davis revealed that Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will not reunite quickly.
"We're mapping it out, but I feel like we will stay fairly consistent to the books," said Davis.
This led to speculations that fan-favorite character, Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) will bid viewers goodbye in "Outlander" Season 3. International Business Times reports that in Gabaldon's book, Murtagh is one of the characters that met his end in the Battle of Culloden.
Murtagh will meet his tragic end in "Outlander" Season 3 along with Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). The publication notes on the possibility that Murtagh will manage to stay alive despite his character's death in Gabaldon's books.
However, with Davis' statements that "Outlander" Season 3 will closely follow that of "Voyager," it looks like fans and viewers will need to say goodbye to their well-loved characters. Of course, there is a possibility that Murtagh will manage to stay alive since the Starz drama has previously changed a couple of things and events from Gabaldon's books in its previous seasons.
It also remains to be seen when will Jamie and Claire reunite in "Outlander" Season 3. Spoilers reveal that Jamie and Claire will need to have a couple of adjustments the moment they reunite since being apart for 20 years is quite a long time.
