'Death Note: Light Up The New World' News and Updates: Second Trailer Dubbed as Intriguing, Plot Picks Up 10 Years After Previous Films

"Death Note: Light Up The New World" has another teaser trailer released by Warner Brose. Japan and in the second sneak peek, it centers on the most deadly Death Note owner Rina Kawaei, played by Sakuro Aoi.

In the trailer, it was also seen the other owners of Death Note. Different names of people are also written in the notebook and by the looks of it, there will be many casualties. The latest teaser trailer also showed a creature looking like a Shinigami.


What to Expect in 'Death Note: Light Up The New World'

Movie News Guide reported that "Death Note: Light Up The New World" will be having a time jump as the plot is set 10 years after the previous Death Note films. The Death Note notebook has the power to kill anyone whose names are written on the pages.

"Death Note: Light Up The New World" will be following the four important characters seen in the first installments of the franchise. Aside from Sakura Aoi, an investigator will be seen, who will be played by Masahiro Higashide. Yuuki Shien will be playing Masaki Suda and Ryuzaki will be Sousuke Ikematsu, the successor.

There will also be actors coming back for "Death Note: Light Up The New World." They have been identified as Erika Toda, who will reprise her role as Misa Amane, and Shidou Nakamura, who will once again be voicing Ryuk.

Sato Shinsuke Directs 'Death Note: Light Up The New World'

"Death Note: Light Up The New World" will be directed by Sato Shinsuke. He is best known for his other hit live-action movies such as "Princess Blade," "Gantz" and "Library Wars."

"Death Note: Light Up The New World" was written by Katsunari Mano.

In North America, an English version of Death Note is being produced by director Adam Wingard. "Death Note: Light Up The New World" will be out in Japan this October 29, 2016.
