The NBA season is nearing and Kevin Durant has made the decision to leave Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Golden State Warriors. After the decision was made public, Durant has been rumored to have left the team because of Russel Westbrook.
However, in a new interview, the NBA superstar answered the rumors surrounding him and clearing the air about Westbrook. Durant was interviewed by a Chinese media on his trip through Asia last week as well as when NBA reporters were present at the practice of Team USA for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Yahoo News reported.

It was reported weeks ago that Durant and Westbrook's partnership in OKC reportedly was one of the factors why Durant transferred to GSW.
Durant then shared on Monday that Russell did not contribute to his decision to transfer. He added, "I made a decision based on where I wanted to go. Simple as that. We can talk about all the reasons and the factors, but it's simple. [Golden State] is where I wanted to play basketball."
Durant did not give other details about his decision to leave OKC but he did give statements about why he chose GSW via free agency. He said that the chemistry amongst Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Daymond Green, as well as Andre Iguodala is something he praises.

More on the Golden State Warriors transfer, Durant braced himself for the negative things he would be reading or hearing. He even revealed that he did not leave his bed after the decision was made public as he feared that someone with hit him with a car or say something negative to his face.
He also revealed that he did bond with his former OKC teammates since he left during the Team USA practice.
