Former president George W. Bush's daughter, Jenna Bush Hager, is pregnant. The 31-year-old broke the news Wednesday on NBC's "Today" show.
This is the first child of the NBC news correspondent with her husband Henry Hager.
"I'm pregnant!" Us Weekly quoted Bush Hager as saying. "We're so excited and obviously nervous about it. I'm a first-time mom. But it's something that I've always wanted. I'm a teacher and I love kids."
The baby is due in spring. The couple is yet to learn the gender of their unborn baby.
President Bush and former first lady Laura Bush were literally over the moon after their daughter announced the news.
"We're both really thrilled," Laura Bush told People magazine. "We've been looking forward to being grandparents for a long time and we're very excited about it."
"I'm fired up. I'm looking forward to it," People magazine quoted President Bush. "I could barely contain the news."
Bush Hager, with the help of her twin sister Barbara and mom Laura Bush, have started designing a nursery.
"She's really into how she's going to help me design the nursery," Bush Hager told People, referring to her twin sister.
Henry Hager is the son of former Virginia Republican Party chairman John H. Hager. Bush Hager first met Henry Hager during her father's presidential campaign in 2004. The couple tied the knot in 2008.
