'Happy Meal' : Mc Donald's Surprised a Two Year Old Boy With Autism By Sending Him a Special Package

McDonald's may have faced countless backlash over the years, but a branch from Ireland made a remarkable gesture that gathered positive remarks from mothers world-wide. The fast-food chain sent a 2-year-old boy with autism a package that perked up his day.

Breaking News IE featured a report wherein a mother from Cork, Nicole Duggan reached the end of her line after her son's favorite "Angry Bird" Happy Meal toy went missing. It may not be a big deal for some mothers, but for Nicole, those "Angry Bird" happy meals were something special.

It took her two-year-old son, Riley a couple of hours as he searched every cupboard on their home for his favorite Happy Meal toys, but to no avail. Toys can easily be replaced, but for children diagnosed with autism, it is something that they can highly be attached with as it can serve as their comfort blanket.

Riley was diagnosed with non-verbal autism which made it even harder for him to vent out his frustration in looking for his toys. Seeing her son's frustrated face, Nicole took matters into her hand and decided to help him look for his Happy Meal toys. Though she searched their entire home, the toys were nowhere in sight.

Nicole then kept her hopes up as she wrote a letter to McDonald's if she could still get a hold of their old angry Birds Happy Meal toys. (since the fast food chain already changed their toy selection already) She then shared her story on Facebook which gathered positive remarks from parents.

"I googled 'McDonald's Ireland' and just emailed to contact info. I got in touch with a lovely woman called Ambily," Nicole told RedFM. "We were woken by the post man with this amazing package! The whole collection of Angry Birds toys, to most people this would be a stupid delivery to get, for my little boy it was like Christmas morning! McDonalds went above and beyond for my small man and I can't thank them enough."
