Cynthia Kim of Stimstatic designed jewelries that adults on the spectrum could surely enjoy. Specail toys are also created for the young ones. Kim's creations are said to be effective at "stimming" or self-stimulatory behaviors like rocking, humming, arm flapping, and other recurring movements common among people with autism.
The Mighty Magazine reports that Kim wants Stimtastic to become a community that embraces people with autism, their objective is to ensure that compassion is expressed and felt. Clients are invited to contribute to the blog by submitting a stimming video, or comment on the Stimtastic Facebook page. This way, people of the same interest (autism) will encourage one another while others who do not care about autism can get inspired and be made aware of the disorder as well.
Stimtastic donates 10 percent of all proceeds to the greater autism community. Some weighted blankets have already been acquired for the autism kids at the marginalized group. The jewelry come in many pieces for at least $10 each.
Individuals on the spectrum are not unloving nor lacking in emotion and empathy. They however also think a lot and feel just like anybody else. The physical and emotional needs of these special people need to be met as well. Every autism person is unique, hence every need is also unique and should be understood.
There are many great people in the world who show great love for the people in the spectrum. Some give them jobs while others promote and fight for their social rights. Kim of Stimtastic, being one of them has a long way to go to support and express love to these special people. Surely her good deeds are seen by the Lord and it will be given back to her a hundred folds. There is no greater gift that parents who have autistic children receive than to see many people loving their own special child just like they do.
