'Pokemon Go' Global News and Updates: Two Canadian Teens Accidentally Cross Border While Playing Game, Apprehended by Federal Agents

Two Canadian teenagers were playing the highly-addictive game "Pokemon Go" resulting to them accidentally crossing the border into the United States. Their actions resulted to Montana federal agents apprehending them.

According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protections, the agents found the two teenagers entering the U.S. illegally last Thursday. They were on foot and authorities pointed out that the two teens were unaware of their surroundings as they were so caught up with playing "Pokemon Go" on their mobile phones.

U.S. Weekly reported that the young "Pokemon Go" players were spotted walking southbound from the Canadian province of Alberta in Montana. The agents determined that the teenagers were not knowledgeable about them crossing the international border.

A statement from Michael Rappold, the public affairs officer of the U.S. Customs and Border Protections, reads, "Both juveniles were so captivated by their Pokemon Go games that they lost track of where they were. They crossed the international border inadvertently, but agents were able to reunite them with their mother."

The young "Pokemon Go" players identities and other personal information were not released by authorities but noted that they were found near Sweet Grass, Montana. They are also said to be brothers from Alberta.

The news about these two teenagers illegally crossing the U.S. border came weeks after it was reported that two "Pokemon Go" players in California fell off a cliff after being too fixated with the game. The two men who fell off from a cliff were able to survive their injuries.

Players have also reportedly discovered dead bodies while searching for Pokemon characters and stampedes have taken place as many players have gathered in public areas where rare Pokemon characters are said to be situated. Police officials have also released warnings saying that some armed robbers are using "Pokemon Go" to lure players to areas where they could easily be mugged.

Hollywood A-listers such as Justin Bieber, John Mayer, Tyga, Chrissy Teigen, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach have talked about "Pokemon Go."
