Elizabeth Berkley is a new mom! The "Showgirls" actress and her husband Greg Lauren welcomed their son Sky Cole Lauren Friday, July 20.
The new arrival weighed 8 lbs at birth. The proud mom shared the news with her Twitter followers Monday.
"I am moved to share the birth of our new baby boy Sky Cole Lauren. Thank u for your beautiful wishes and blessings. We r grateful! Berkley wrote.
This is the first child of the couple, who tied the knot Nov., 2003.
"The moment we both saw him it was love at first sight," the couple told People magazine."We are over the moon and grateful to start this amazing adventure together as a family."
The couple announced expecting their first child in March, 2012.
"I'm due this summer and there is a reason why they give you nine months to get ready!" Berkley told People magazine after sharing the pregnancy news. "It does allow you to prepare."
Berkley who showed interest and talent in dancing from a very young age started her career as a model for Elite. The television film "Frog" in 1987 was her first film. She became popular with her role in the film "Showgirls" and Jessie Spano on "Saved by the Bell."
