Ever since Michael Schumacher's tragic skiing accident at the French Alpine resort of Meribel in France in December 2013, reports and updates on his current health condition have remained elusive. But despite the media blackout requested by the Schumachers, his fans continue making the hashtag #KeepFightingMichael trend on social media as a sign of support to their embattled idol.
As many Michael Schumacher fans patiently wait for some good news regarding the current health condition of the 47-year-old German racing legend, various rumors have also circulated. As a matter of fact, claims about Schumacher's ability to walk again have recently resurfaced.
Michael Schumacher Walking Again?
Rumors about Michael Schumacher's ability to walk again and his "very thin" figure first emerged last December when a German news outlet Bunte published a report with a headline, "He Can Move Again." But according to Movie News Guide, rumors about Schumi's being able to walk again have resurfaced.
"Michael is very thin," a Bunte insider claimed at the time. "But he can once again walk a little with the help of his therapists. He manages to make a couple of steps. And he can also raise an arm."
Following the circulation of the walking rumors, Michael Schumacher's longtime manager Sabine Kehm promptly denied the reports, saying the walking rumors only sparked "false hopes" among fans and supporters, Latin Post noted. And with the recent reports, Kehm also promptly dismissed the speculations.
"Unfortunately, we are forced by a recent press report to clarify that the assertion that Michael could move again is not true," Kehm said, as per NDTV Sports. "Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael. Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many involved people."
Any Michael Schumacher Report Is Fictitious?
With the media blackout still in effect as requested by Michael Schumacher's family, any news or updates about the seven-time Formula One champ are deemed fictitious. In fact, a Brazilian media panel has claimed the lack of information regarding Schumacher's condition only means that "hearsays" were being reported by the media.
"There are no more medical bulletins, so all we get is hearsay," Brazil's UOL journalist Gabriel Curty said, GrandPrix quoted.
