‘Gossip Girl’ News: New Season On The Horizon?

"Gossip Girl" is beloved to many. Many can't deny that. Though the series has officially ended in 2012, there are many fans who really would love to see it come back. So, will the popular series make a comeback?

As we know it, "Gossip Girl" launched the careers of many famous personalities like Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick. The show also gave television most of its notable and iconic couples. Remember, Chuck and Blair?

Recently, the television has seen many shows on a revival phase. Boy Meets World, Gilmore Girls and Full House are few examples. So, is it wrong to expect that "Gossip Girl" will return to television?

"Gossip Girl" ran for six seasons and the show officially ended in 2012. Good news is actually not in store for the fans as the executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage haven't considered rebooting the hit series, reported Hollywood Life.

"We haven't really explored some of those conversations," Schwartz told E! News. "Maybe, I don't know. We haven't really thought about it," Schwartz said at the 2016 ATX TV Festival in June.

However, there is definitely a silver lining behind the looming dark clouds. Schwartz said that the internet has changed now. The whole world is actually a "Gossip Girl" as of now. It would definitely be very interesting to see the "Gossip Girl" in the era of the various social media apps like Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat.

He also added that when Cecily von Ziegesar first wrote the book series of the TV show, the mobile phones did not even have cameras on them.

While there are still no plans to revive the series, there are stars who are ready to reprise their roles in the series. Sebastian Stan, of the Captain America fame told: "I would do it, why not?" He also added that two other stars are ready to get on board. "I got Jessica Szohr and Chace Crawford," he said. "I don't know what the rest are up to, but I'd be down. Why not?"

Are you waiting for "Gossip Girl?" Will it be revived? We need to wait and watch.
