Teen Discipline Or Outright Cruelty? Mom Beats Daughter & Shows Everything On Facebook Live; Authorities Investigate

A mom from Georgia was appalled to see her daughter's sexy photo post on Facebook. She also learned that her 16-year-old is already sexually active. So, to teach the young girl a lesson, mommy beat her up and showed everything that went on via Facebook Live.

Shanavia Miller slapped, punched and hit her daughter with an object in the video. She also shouted and berated her for being a THOT, which translates to "that hoe over there," per CNN. The controversial video, which goes for more than four minutes, has gone viral on social media since its posting. It has received different reactions from netizens.

Some understood the mother's frustration, rationalizing that Shanavia Miller could've only been trying to save her daughter from "the nasty world." But majority agree that the act was disturbing, and more so because it was broadcast live on Facebook.

The Sun
reports that the mother's rage was sparked by a photo her daughter shared on her Facebook with her boyfriend, and the girl only had a towel on. Perhaps seeing red, Shanavia Miller consciously decided to video tape the beating so that it will go viral and teach her daughter a valuable lesson.

The Washington Post reports that after the video has spread on the internet, the daughter acknowledged her mistake. She said she was sorry for embarrassing her mother. "I was gonna open up and tell her that I was having sex," the girl said. "I understand why she did what she did."

Meanwhile, Shanavia Miller said that she loves her daughter despite what happened and this was her way of disciplining her. She wants the 16-year-old to grow up not disrespecting anyone, including her mom and herself. Authorities are now looking into the case further. But so far, there has been no charges filed against Shanavia Miller, per CBS News.

Watch the viral video below. Please be warned that it is violent. What are your thoughts on this controversy? Do you believe the mom was out of line or was her disciplining her daughter warranted?
