Anyone with a baby understands the frustration of letting the little one sleep through the night. But a doll with "magical powers", which comes from Iceland and was designed by a mother, might be the best sleep solution yet.
Called the Lulla Doll, this item, with its supposed effective ability to stimulate babies to sleep, has become the most coveted on eBay and has sparked a bidding war among parents. Though only priced at $71 -- that is, if bought locally -- some parents are actually willing to shell out $350 for the Lulla Doll on the e-commerce site.
The price adjustment is not unusual, because apparently, this is already sold out, per Us Weekly. The initial production of the Lulla Doll netted out 5,000 pieces and it went in the market fast, per Pop Sugar.
Who Created Lulla Doll?
The Lulla Doll is the brainchild of Eyrun Eggertsdottir, who has studied as a psychologist in Iceland. The item is featured with a recording of breathing sounds and heartbeat, so that when placed next to the baby while sleeping, the infant will feel as if her mom or carer is nearby.
According to Lulla Doll's page on Indiegogo, the idea to create the doll with "powers" was based off kangaroo care. After some reseach, the creator decided that the doll comes with a human image, so that the baby feels more comfortable towards it.
The Lulla Doll was also created to as gender-free doll and it's quite handy to have around. Its material is supposedly baby-friendly, hypoallergenic, as well as easy to clean off.
