Promise by co-writers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatis that "Sherlock Season 4" will have shockers is true as a BBC trailer recently teased Tom Hiddleston as Sherrinford, the third Holmes brother. While the addition of Tom Hiddleston to "Sherlock" as the third Holmes brother had been repeatedly speculated, Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Gatiss (as Mycroft Holmes) had seemed to be moving on without Sherrinford.
However, The Independent reports that "Sherlock Season 4" seems to be getting Tom Hiddleston as the third Holmes brother after all. BBC interestingly chose to promote "Sherlock" and "The Night Manager" side by side through a trailer, strategically cutting the clips to Tom Hiddleston every time a "Sherlock" clip refers to a "brother."
The BBC Store captioned the trailer to further tease the Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston "Sherlock Season 4" team up. "Blud" rumours are flying - but what could #Hiddlebatch actually look like?" the BBC Store posted referencing 'Sherlock Season 4" speculations. The Independent points out that it is a BBC troll for "Sherlock" fans. However, the clever fusion of Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Gatiss "Sherlock" scenes with Tom Hiddleston could not be dismissed. Mark Gatiss furthered the "Sherlock Season 4" third Holmes brother tease by posing with Tom Hiddleston at the 2016 Comic Con.
BBC reports that Tom Hiddleston posed with Mark Gatiss and Martin Freeman's wife Amanda Abbington, who plays Mary Watson in the "Sherlock" series. As with the BBC tease, Mark Gatiss alluded to the involvement of Tom Hiddleston as the third Holmes brother by captioning the photo with "Blud. #SDDC16"
Parent Herald reports that during the panel interview for "Sherlock Season 4" at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss confirmed the involvement of Sherrinford, which is the name of the third Holmes brother. Fans should also reportedly expect Thatcher and Smith along with the third Holmes brother in "Sherlock Season 4."
The BBC is expected to air "Sherlock Season 4" in January 2017. Do you support the addition of Tom Hiddleston as the third Holmes brother alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Gatiss?
