"We Happy Few" is an Indie survival horror game. The game has been in development for over a year. Now, the game has hit the Steam Early Access.
The players who are interested in trying out the game can play a beta build on the service. It should be kept in mind that the game is in development phase and this means that it will have lots of bugs. Though this is a setback, the theme of the game makes it compelling enough to try out.
What is "We Happy Few" about?
The game, "We Happy Few," seems like a cross between "Bioshock" and "The Elder Scrolls" games. There is an open world element in the game. However, the survivor horror element defines it.
The player assumes the personality of Arthur Hastings, a citizen of Wellington Wells. It is a town set in an alternate history England. This town has suffered the invasion of Soviet Union during World War II. To diminish the misery around, the town takes a drug called Joy. This drug makes everything seem happier than it really is, reported Polygon.
"We Happy Few" is a race. The chemicals to produce Joy, as well as basic food availability of the town, are slowly running out. Arthur has to escape the town before the time runs out, reported Shack News.
"We Happy Few" is like a dungeon crawl game. It generates environments at random through each playthrough. The game restarts at previous save points with a feature called Permadeath. This feature can be turned off too.
"We Happy Few" has a level of difficulty. Survival involves taking minor doses of Joy in order to blend in with the Wellington Wells citizens. During the gameplay, item and weapon crafting are also important.
The release date of "We Happy Few" is not yet known. However, it can be played on Steam Early Access within a year.
