A unique way of baby delivery called the gentle cesarean has made it possible for babies to make their way out of their mother's womb. A video capturing a mother's gentle cesarean delivery has been posted by a friend in Facebook, and has reached 2.6 million views and over 36,000 shares as of writing.
"Instead of making the incision and pulling the baby out, the obstetrician delivered Jack's head - and then at that point they lowered the drapes, positioned a mirror and lifted my shoulders to enable me to watch the rest of the birth," said Jody Deacon-Viney, the mother who was giving birth, as per Metro. Her friend, childbirth educator and babywearing instructor Sophie Messager posted the video of the birth.
Baby Gets Out Of Womb By Himself
Messager's video of the gentle cesarean delivery shows baby Jack climbing his way out of Deacon-Viney's womb by himself and is only helped once by the medical staff, reported Mirror. Jack's head is seen out of the womb and he then proceeds to take out his right arm and slowly but surely climbs out of his mother's womb. Jack is finally handed to his mother at the end.
As Cosmpolitan warned, "if you're a little squeamish you might not fancy watching the video." Still, some of the comments called the gentle cesarean delivery as beautiful, lovely, amazing and gorgeous. One mother said that she has undergone three cesarean sections, which have to be done fast so she is not sure she would want a gentle cesarean delivery.
Hospital To Have Own Gentle Cesarean Video Of The Birth
According to Messager's post that accompanied the gentle cesarean video, Deacon-Viney requested several things, such as the baby be allowed to walk out to help clear its lungs and that the umbilical cord be left to stop pulsing before the doctors cut it. Messager said that Deacon-Viney told her the doctors did wait for the umbilical cord to stop pulsating before they clamped it.
Messager said that Dr. Andy Simm at Nottingham City hospital supported all the mother's wishes, which can be found in her Facebook post together with the gentle cesarean video. The hospital also reportedly filmed Deacon-Viney's gentle cesarean birth and will be released in around one week or two weeks.
