A baby is on the way for Channing Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
"Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum are pleased to announce that they are expecting the birth of their first child next year," the actor's rep told Us Weekly.
The "Magic Mike" star met "The Playboy Club" actress during the shooting of the movie "Step Up" in 2006. The couple, who got engaged in 2008, tied the knot the following year, in California.
Both Channing and Jenna have expressed their wish to have babies earlier.
"I'm ready; I think she's ready," Tatum told People magazine recently. "The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we'll see where we go after that."
His wife agreed.
"I would hope so!" the "American Horror Story: Asylum" actress told Us Weekly in January, regarding her plans to expand her family. "I just don't know when. When it's meant to be, it will happen."
Channing will leave it up to his wife to make the final decision regarding the number of children.
"It's really easy for us guys to say, 'I want like 15 kids,'" he told People magazine. "Jenna will be like, 'Well you better get another wife!'"
Well-wishers of the couple welcomed the news: "@channingtatum congratulations channing you andyour your wife Jenna will be awesome parents <3 xoxo," one of the actor's well-wishers Tweeted.
The expecting parents came forward to thank their fans on Twitter.
"Appreciate everyone's good wishes and love! Thanks guys! :)" Channing wrote.
