When Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton stepped on the stage at the Republican and Democratic National Convention in recent weeks to talk about their respective parents, most people might have one thing on their minds. These women, who are both accomplished as individuals in their field of work, are also accomplished moms who recently had their babies. Yet, they seem to make post-pregnancy recovery look so easy.
Ivanka, the daughter of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, gave birth to her third child, Theodore, in March, per Vanity Fair. Chelsea, the daughter of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, gave birth to second child, Aidan, in June, per CNN.
But when the women faced the large crowds to campaign for their parents, there were hardly any traces of postpartum symptoms and other stressors that mothers go through months after giving birth and tending to infants. They stood at the podium to deliver their speeches about their parents and carried themselves on stage with confidence and grace.
Ivanka Trump, Chelsea Clinton Under Extreme Pressure
Understandably, these women have lots of help from family members and they undoubtedly have the capacity to hire a staff to take care of their needs, as well as their families. However, Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton, who have known nothing but extra-ordinary privileged lives since birth, are also coping with extra-ordinary pressures that have to do with the presidential campaign. So much pressure that it has affected even their friendship, as Parent Herald previously reported.
Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton are whirling through the political climate besieged to them by their parents, while living their own lives and raising little children. Worse, the public expects them to be shining examples of daughters of America's future leader, while their husbands and children also have their own expectations from them as wife and mother.
Ivanka Trump, Chelsea Clinton Post-Pregnancy Normalcy
After birth, moms can grow easily tired and overwhelmed with the latest addition and changes in the family. It is also common for moms to develop the "baby blues" during this period, per Web MD. But there are plenty of ways to cope with these through exercise, proper diet and emotional support from family members until things get back to normal.
Of these two women, Ivanka Trump shares more about her life outside of the elections, via her posts on Instagram. There, her followers can see a semblance of normalcy in her life. She shares plenty of photos of her children and her husband, as well as other images in relation to her work and the things she's passionate about.
On the other hand, it might not be easy to pin down how Chelsea Clinton's life has gone back to normal. She has always kept her life private even while she was growing up at the White House in the 90s. Politico notes that Chelsea's guarded life will not likely change as she has mastered how to cope in the public eye. But she once shared a rare photo of her daughter Charlotte on Twitter when she turned one, per Entertainment Tonight.
