There are so many questions that needed to be answered in "Empire" season 3 following the cliffhanging season 2 finale of the hit FOX series. But aside from the new characters and guest stars in the upcoming season, fans are also dying to know what would be next for feuding exes Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson).
Before the drama continues in "Empire" season 3, fans already know how Lucious and Cookie's marriage fell apart. But as the couple decides to give their relationship another try, Lucious chooses to marry Anika (Grace Gealey), leaving a hurt and devastated Cookie behind.
In "Empire" season 3, however, fans will get to see a much bolder, stronger ad fiercer Cookie who will be making a comeback for vengeance, Ecumenical News hinted. With that said, it's safe to assume that fans should not let hopes too high for a reconciliation between the exes.
"The family is together, the company is together, and Lucious and Cookie will be in one another's faces and lives, but her [being finished with Lucious] is going to color everything," "Empire" season 3 showrunner Ilene Chaiken told TVLine last month.
In addition, Parent Herald has previously reported about the new characters and guest stars in "Empire" season 3. These include Ajiona Alexus and Jeremy Carver who will both play the younger versions of Cookie and Lucious respectively.
Furthermore, "Empire" season 3 will also feature Ezri Walker (rapper Zeah), rapper Xzibit, Taye Diggs (Angelo Dubois), musician-actor Scott Mescudi aka Kid Cudi (rapper Gram), Sierra McClain, French Montana and Birdman. Recently, however, Henson hinted the participation of hip-hop legend Biz Markie on her Instagram post.
As Henson announced Markie's potential appearance in "Empire" season 3, Yibada reported that it remained uncertain whether he would just be a guest star or a third season's mainstay. Markie's role also remained unknown.
Meanwhile, "Empire" season 3 will reportedly introduce more dramatic plotlines as the series follows Lucious' sham marriage to Anika, the reappearance of his demons and Cookie's major heartbreak. The upcoming season will also reveal who fell off the balcony in the previous season, not to mention its "Godfather"-like storyline and the possible introduction of Cookie's lover.
"Empire" season 3 will be airing on Sept. 21, Wednesday, at 9 p.m. on Fox. Are you looking forward for the upcoming season of the series? Share your thoughts below and follow Parent Herald for more news and updates.
