‘Longmire’ Season 5 Air Date, News & Spoilers: Netflix Brings Back Western Drama This September; Possible Last Season For The Crime Show

"Longmire" Season 5 is finally renewed, thanks to Netflix. After its cancellation by A&E, the Western crime drama was fortunately taken by Netflix to continue its Season 4.

After almost a year of its long absence, "Longmire" will be back and probably its season 5 will be the end of Sheriff Longmire. Reports are indicating that Netflix will soon axe the show after fans felt that the show is a bit long and with no new storylines to fill.

However, "Longmire" already has a huge fan base, cancelling a possible sixth season may upset a lot of its viewers. VC Post reported that since the show is own now by Netflix, there is a possibility that the show will now be more different. Writers will be able to writer fresher and new storylines as there are not a lot of TV restrictions for its growth.

"Longmire" Season 5 will also be longer as it will air one-hour long episodes compared when it was with A&E. "With an additional 20 minutes, we can let moments breathe and round out the characters and it's a much more cinematic experience episode to episode," Lou Diamond Philips said.

Since Netflix releases all its episodes at one time, "Longmire" Season 5 fans can easily binge watch the entire season to catch and relieve most of its episodes. Viewers can also watch "Longmire" previous seasons to remember its previous plots.

The first episode of "Longmire" Season 5 will just continue where it left off on the season finale of "Longmire" Season 4. Sheriff Longmire may possibly have a new love of his life after the death of his wife. However, complications may still arise in the process.
