For those following Greg Monroe's career, according to reports, the center and power forward of Milwaukee Bucks maybe heading to another team in the next NBA season. Reports have it that Monroe will join his hometown, New Orleans Pelicans.
According to Inquisitr, chances are high that Greg Monroe will join the Pelicans. The former Detroit Pistons big man is eager to get out of his contract with Milwaukee Bucks last offseason and want to continue his NBA career with another team.
However, Sports Illustrated noted earlier that Greg Monroe has turned down bigger franchises to stay with Milwaukee Bucks. Per the report, Greg Monroe met with four teams and identified one that is closest to his contention and long-term needs, which is the Bucks.
In fact, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the big man is signing a three-year contract with his current team. "Greg Monroe will sign a three-year, $50M deal with the Bucks, including the player option on the final year, sources tell Yahoo."
At the time, there was no update about the said contract and some sources continue to believe that Greg Monroe will be wearing another jersey in the next NBA season. In fact, Zach Lowe's podcast disclosed that Bucks have been shopping Greg Monroe around and the team appears to be making progress with the New Orleans Pelicans. Many believe that Monroe will be the new addition to the Pelicans in the next NBA season.
Meanwhile, marketing for Greg Monroe should not be that difficult. Parent Herald previously reported that New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs want Monroe under their wings. The Knicks want the big man for their frontline to help Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah. Meanwhile, Spurs is desperate to have Monroe to replace Tim Duncan who announced his retirement earlier.
