Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy Welcome their First Child

Actress Claire Danes is a mom. The 33-year-old actress and husband Hugh Dancy welcomed a baby boy, Monday. The proud parents have named their first child Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy, People magazine reported.

Danes met Dancy during the shooting of the movie "Evening" in 2007. Dating for more than one year, the couple tied the knot in France in 2009. Two years after marriage, last October during a chat with People magazine, Danes expressed her wish to have babies.

"There's definitely a chance, no plans yet. But yeah, that'd be fun," the 33 year-old said.

In July 2012, the couple announced they were expecting their first child. However, the "Homeland" star didn't reveal the gender of the baby until she gave birth. Danes, during an interview with Anderson Cooper in September, opened up about her impending motherhood.

"We are very excited," Us Weekly quoted Danes. "We are going to love this person, I know that."

Danes, who dated musician Ben Lee and actor Billy Crudup before tying the knot with Dancy, was very happy with her married life.

"I do sometimes look at him and think, 'You are really handsome.' He keeps me sane and happy," she told Daily Mail.

Danes, whose father was a dean of the Art and Architecture School at Yale University, started her career in acting with a guest appearance on the television series "Law & Order." She shot to fame after her role in the television series "My So-Called Life," which grabbed her a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy nomination.

She plays the role of Carrie Mathison in the drama/thriller series "Homeland," which earned her a 2012 Golden Globe for Best Actress in January.
