Harvard Republican Club: Donald Trump Is Poisoning The County And Its Children

Many college clubs are devoted for political purposes and one of these is the Harvard Republican Club, based in the prestigious Harvard University. Being Republicans, the club has been expected to support the GOP party's nominee but surprisingly chose to do otherwise.

Bloomberg reports that ever since the election campaign, the student Republican club has not expressed any support for Donald Trump and has recently rebuked the GOP nominee in an 800-word Facebook post. The club described Trump as a fascist, racist and an authoritarian who is not fit to lead the United States.

According to The Harvard Crimson, Harvard Republican Club opened a poll this week for its members and found that eighty percent of the club's population would not offer any support for Trump, ten percent are still deciding and the remaing ten percent would do so. This means that the largest Republican group in Harvard is not in support of the GOP nominee's bid for presidency.

The student Republicans also sided with Khizr Khan, father of the slain Muslim-American soldier, who recently became the subject of headlines when his speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) drew cheers from the audience and ire from Donald Trump. Furthermore, Harvard Republic Club criticized their Trump as a "threat to the survival of the Republic" and "is poisoning our country and our children."

The Washington Post contributor, Philip Bump, slams the Facebook post, saying that out of all the bad news Trump's campaign had to endure this week, a college's statement is by far the least damaging. Donald Trump still has the time, money and effort to reach more areas and establish his foothold there.
