One of the popular names in the NBA trade rumor mill now is Rudy Gay, and he is not happy about it. Speculations are that the Sacramento Kings is putting the 29-year-old forward in the trading block to get Kelly Olynyk and Robert Covington. Other rumors have it that Gay might be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
According to SportsRageous, the Kings might enter in a four-way trade deal involving the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, and Philadelphia 76ers. The Kings will send Gay to the Atlanta Hawks, which will boost the team's offense and solve its need for a wingman. Gay has an average of 17.2 points, 1.7 assists, and 6.5 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, the report suggests that Celtics will end up with Jahlil Okafor from Sixers, which in turn will have Tiago Splitter, Marcus Smart, Tim Hardaway Jr., and a conditional Minnesota Timberwolves pick from the Hawks. The Kings will then get Kelly Olynyk and Robert Covington.
In another report from SportsRageous, the Los Angeles Clippers is said to be interested in having Rudy Gay as part of the team for the next season. But despite that, the Clippers reportedly is not interested in trading Blake Griffin. Reports say that Gay is a fan of the Clippers, and maybe it is where he would find the stability he desires.
Rudy Gay has expressed his frustrations with the Sacramento Kings for its lack of direction. "I have no idea," Gay told Sactown Royalty when asked about it. "I suit up and give it my all. That's all I can do in this situation, that's all you can do. Go out there and play as much as you can."
"Obviously, we don't have anything to really build on. We have a new coach. I think that's the only thing we can really build on. New coach and seeing how it plays out," he added.
