As much as McDonalds wanted to make happier kids with autism, Pokemon Go also is into the same pursuit. The said phenomenal online game gave way for the kids on the spectrum to mingle with other players and enjoy life without feeling the odd one out.
Some kids with autism had their mood heightened into a positive sense, as they had the desire to socialize because of the games. Some introverted ones suddenly get into meeting new friends and play with them. The scared kids on the spectrum before are happy and all-out sociable today.
People in the spectrum are not less-abled people. Many times, they are actually a lot smarter and more skillful that any ordinary person. It is just that, they do not usually talk and act like majority of the people in this world. But their brains are great and their body are most often greatly gifted.
Pokemon Go did a great job in transforming lives today. Nonetheless, we also want to raise a generation who are less dependent on gadgets and technology. We see how gadgets are gradually destroying relationships. But of course, the issue is case to case. In the matter of helping autism, gadgets and technology are of great contribution. Regulation as still needed though.
While Pokemon Go becomes a big craze in many parts of the world today, what long-term effect can we expect from kids, whether on spectrum or not? Socially, it can be great unless squabbles arise. Physically, it can have some negative effects as the gamer may get addicted to the game and lose focus on the more important matters. Kids on the spectrum need to remain healthy socially and physically and these two should be balanced.
Nintendo did a great job at Pokemon Go creation. However, there are still limitations and parents of kids with autism should always weigh down other options and not get their kids into online game addiction. There should be discipline as well.
