Pokemon Go's popularity is spreading like Dragonfire, and not waning anytime soon. So, what's next for the Pokemon franchise? A new manga series for "Pokemon Sun and Moon," of course.
The Pokemon Company has recently revealed airing the series in the CoroCoro Comics' October issue, according to Anime News Network. Starting September 15th, publisher Shogakukan has delegated the October issue for a spread of the popular game, with Tenya Yabuno as the lead animator for the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" manga version.
The manga is also going to get released at least a month ahead of the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" games. Its Nintendo 3DS unveiling would happen in North America and Japan by November 18, and the following week (November 23rd) for the rest of Europe.
A preview of the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" manga shows Akira and his Pokemon partner Rockruff (Iwanko) as the main characters. The duo would be doing their adventures in the Alola region, with lots of fun and interesting encounters along the way. Although there's no further info on what the main story line would be, fans are hoping that it would be based on the game version itself.
However, a Comicbook post stated that the manga version of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" would be about the 1997 Pokemon Adventures' series. Satoshis Yamamoto did the animation on Pokemon Adventures, while Hidenori Kusaka wrote its story line.
The Pokemon Company is not new to doing manga adaptations of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" games. Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Pokemon Omega Ruby had two run-ins in the CoroCoro Comics for a few months, last 2014. Fun fact: VIZ Media is set to release its English dub, titled " Pokémon Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire" in mini-volumes on September 6 this year, says Bulbapedia.
