If new rumors are true, it looks like the PS4 Neo could get an earlier release date. As some fans speculated, the long wait could be finally over next month.
In a Reddit forum, user GamingSince95 hinted that a New York Sept. 7, 2016 release for the PS4 Neo could be underway. Although he failed to mention his source, the rumor could not be far-fetched as several publications have already speculated that the upgraded console could be unveiled even before 2016 Holiday.
In the same thread, other PS4 Neo hopefuls dished on having an Elite controller for the PS4. Once the new Sony console drops, some users argued that it would be a great addition to those who wouldn't mind paying a premium.
Meanwhile, a separate Reddit thread discussed the possible specs of the PS4 Neo. According to user ElectricRenaissance, Sony might be making further upgrades to make the Neo faster and therefore matching the speed of the XB Scorpio. While this remains to be pure speculation as of writing, some fans argued that this might be far-fetched considering its release date is drawing near.
"Don't think Sony has enough time to redo the board by Fall, considering production should start in September if a November release is a thing," user Shankovich commented. "However, they could pay more for a full chip. The Neo is pretty much using a P10 chip with (I think) 2 CU's disabled. Sony could pay AMD more for fully unlocked chips."
