Recent rumors about WWE stars have popped up recently. Among those wrestlers in the rumor mill are Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and Brock Lesnar.
Owens will reportedly head to "SmackDown Live" after his feud with friend-turned-enemy Sami Zayn, according to Sportskeeda. The two's fight has concluded at "Battleground" but though it seemed to have calmed now, plenty of viewers assume that it's only a matter of time before that fire sparks up again.
Many fans have expected that Owens and Zayn would be separated by WWE for a while by transferring them to different brands. That speculation, however, ended when both of them were drafted to "Raw."
Inquisitr wrote that Owens is a better fit at "SmackDown Live." This is because that brand is in need of a heel, a term in WWE that's synonymous to a villainous wrestler or a bad guy. Orton excels at being a heel, but he is currently rumored to be moving to "Raw" and vacating his bad guy position at "SmackDown Live."
In a recent conference call with both national and international media outlets, Owens said that another fight with Zayn isn't on the cards for now. He also aims to headline a PPV event by 2017, Wrestling Inc reported.
As for Orton's upcoming "SummerSlam" match against Lesnar this month, there are rumors circulating that The Beast Incarnate would win that fight and he will challenge whoever snags the WWE Universal Championship -- Finn Balor or Seth Rollins -- at the "Royal Rumble" in January 2017.
Sportskeeda reported that WWE is hoping that the negative publicity surrounding Lesnar about his U.S. Anti-Doping Agency violation would die down before his "Royal Rumble" fight. Lesnar doesn't have to appear much in WWE if he wins at "SummerSlam," and appearing at the "Royal Rumble" after a few months would likely put WWE out of the crosshairs and backlash from viewers.
In addition, there are speculations that UFC star Conor McGregor would join WWE after insulting and picking a fight with the organization, tweeting that he'd "slap the head off" the entire WWE roster. Some of the WWE wrestlers who fired back at McGregor on Twitter are AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Big E, Sheamus, MVP, and Ric Flair, Sky Sports listed.
McGregor previously expressed his wish to retire after his part in the death of Joao Carvalho, who died in the hands of a fighter McGregor trained. Inquisitr noted that WWE is a sensible next path for McGregor if he leaves his MMA career. This online brouhaha between McGregor and WWE superstars could set up his entrance to the organization nicely and generate enough buzz.
