Singer turned fashion entrepreneur, Jessica Simpson, has a new line of maternity wardrobe - a T-shirt! The mother-of-two and charity organization, Baby Buggy, joined forces for a project for Mother's Day.
Simpson is already an owner of a maternity fashion line, called "The Destination Maternity Collection." The T-shirt line she co-created with Baby Buggy will be an addition to this clothing collection, according to People. The maternal shirt emblazons the word "Soul Mate. The shirt's theme is that every child born is a soul mate to their mom.
"Soul Mate" costs $18 each and can be bought online and in retail stores, called Simpson's Destination Maternity. Each shirt sold entitles $5 in donation to Jessica Seinfeld's Baby Buggy. Seinfeld's non-profit organization helps families who are in dire need of assistance to accommodate life's basic needs.
Simpson said she saw the need for her involvement in Baby Buggy's campaign. "Being a mom is the most meaningful life experience I have ever had. I share a common need with all mothers - to make life as happy and comfortable as possible for my kids."
Simpson expressed appreciation for having been given a role in Baby Buggy's goodwill mission. "I am honored to have created this adorable tee to help support Baby Buggy and all of the moms out there who are working hard to be the best they can be for their kids," she said.
So what is Simpson's message to moms who will purchase "Soul Mate" tees?
Tell others about "Soul Mate" and Baby Buggy. The singer encouraged moms to use the hashtag #JSxBabyBuggy in multiple social media sites.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail revealed that Simpson was working on a new album as well. The singer posed with Columbia Records A & R vice president, Teresa LaBarbera Whites, in a make-up free picture recently. This photo hinted on Simpson's beginning of a new music album production.
An insider revealed, "Jessica really wants to get her music career back on track, and doesn't just want to be known for her yo-yo dieting."
"She's still a platinum-selling pop star and she hasn't forgotten that. She wants to do a pure pop record in the same vein as what Taylor Swift is doing now."
Simpson gained fame in the late 1990's as one of the rising teen pop singer icons. Her popular rivals at the time were Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. She starred in the MTV reality show, "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica," in the early 2000's with then-husband, Nick Lachey. Simpson is now married to retired NFL player, Eric Johnson. The couple share daughter, Maxwell, 2, and son, Ace, 21 months.
Simpson has widely been known for sharing photos of her kids in social media. US magazine reported that Simpson captioned a photo of Ace with this message on Instagram, "'Oh! Darling' Lennon-McCartney."
