Indian Archer Deepika Kumari lost the Pre-Quarter Finals. This is a big loss for India as they are in search for a Gold Medal from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
In Rio 2016 Archery Event Day 5, Deepika Kumari who came back from a tough match against Guandalina was crushed by the Chinese Taipei Archer Tan Ya-Ting. Kumari had a devastating match against Tan Ya-Ting having a outscored with 28-27, 29-26, 30-27 according to the Indian Express.
Though Kumari lost her chance to bring a Gold Medal for her country, Rio 2016 Olympic Games shows a good progress on her career knowing that on the last London Olympic, Kumari was eliminated during the first round.
After defeating Italian Archer Sartori Guandalina in 1/16 Elimination Round, Deepika Kumari advances to the Rio 2016 Archery Pre-Quarter Finals. On this match, Kumari quite in trouble in the early round as Guandalina takes it over. In a play-by-play report made by Hindustan Times, in the next two rounds of the match Kumari came back hitting 10's and a nine finishing the match with 29 over Guandalina with 26.
Deepika Kumari, 22, is an Indian Athlete competing in Archery event. Kumari has been one of the favorites to win on every Archery Event in Rio 2016 Olympic Games due to her charming looks, young age yet a well renowned athlete.
On the Other hand, another Indian Archer Bombaya Devi had an excellent game before she was also eliminated during her Pre-Quarter Finals Match. Devi was an underdog, but were able to dominate Lin Shih-Chia of Chinese Taipei. Unfortunately, Devi fall into the hands of Mexican Archer Alejandra Valencia.
With Deepika Kumari and fellow Indian Archer Laishram Bombayla Devi both losing their chance to climb up in the Rio 2016 Olympic Gold Medal Ladder, the only hope for India is the remaining Rio 2016 Indian Archer that they have, Atanu Das.
Atanu Das will be competing for the Rio 2016 Archery Pre-Quarter Finals this Friday hoping to win and have a chance to step forward.
