'Half a Heart Henry' of Children in Need Told his Parents He Knew He was Going to Die

No parent would want to lose his or her child and it is extremely heartbreaking to see any parent go through that especially if the child is still young. This was unfortunately the case with a child nicknamed "half a heart Henry," for well, having just half a heart. When he was first put into the limelight by Children in Need, he stole the hearts of everyone not just in his homeland, but all around the world as well.

Despite being only nine years old, Henry has already gone through multiple operations because of his condition. This also means that he has spent much of his childhood in the hospital. Both him and his parents have had to undergo extreme amounts of pain because of this, but they still push through because they want to see Henry live a happy and fulfilling life.

But Henry's life is not one without heartbreak, of course. One of the most gut-wrenching moments his parents recall is when Henry told them "he knew when [he] will die." Aside from this Henry also told his parents that he wanted them to continue on living there lives after he is gone and that he wants them to be happy, said an article on the Daily Mail.

Unfortunately, Henry untimely passed away last month, on July 29. According to reports, he spent his last moments at the Birmingham's Children Hospital eagerly waiting for a heart transplant.

His parents praised his tenacity for someone his age, and his mother especially praised his intelligence and his ability to understand more complex things and to communicate with older children and adults. His father hailed him as his personal hero. He was unfazed by his condition and even wanted to be a neurologist when he grew up. He was even an ambassador for Readathon! Henry will surely be missed.
