"Vikings Season 4" may be one of the closest expositions History fans will have on the ending of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and the rise of ruthless, feared Viking Ivar The Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen). "Vikings Season 4" will expose the interesting disparity between Ragnar Lothbrok and Ivar The Boneless where the Kattegat ruler runs away from the pressure of Viking rule while his youngest son with Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) embraces it.
Zap2It cites History series creator Michael Hirst in explaining the disappearance of Ragnar Lothbrok at "Vikings Season 4" midseason finale. After losing the battle with Rollo (Clive Standen) in France, Ragnar Lothbrok went awol and abandoned his people and his family.
Michael Hirst explained that at that point, Ragnar Lothbrok had actually wanted to disappear from history. However, before the curtains closed on the "Vikings Season 4" midseason finale, Ragnar Lothbrok ambled back into Kattegat daring all - especially his sons - Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), Hvitserk (Marco Islø), Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Sigurd Snake-In-The-Eye (David Lindstrom) and Ivar The Boneless - to stop him.
Parent Herald cites reports that the "Vikings" series highlights how the exploits of Ragnar Lothbrok outside of Kattegat had been excursions of curiosity and learning rather than plunder and pillage. When "Vikings Season 4" returns, the tides would have been turned and Ragnar Lothbrok is as much out for blood as he is for knowledge.
Foremost in his list of stopovers for "Vikings Season 4" is Wessex for a little tete-a-tete with the traitorous King Ecbert (Linus Roache). Without doubt, however, the actions Ragnar Lothbrok in "Vikings Season 4" will be born out of a sense of duty and justice.
In contrast, "Vikings Season 4" will introduce the background of leader, who takes pleasure in war and bloodshed with Ivar The Boneless. Unlike Ragnar Lothbrok, Ivar The Boneless makes no apology for how he goes after what he wants.
Ivar The Boneless had been known as a strange and feared ruler in the history of the Vikings and the Western world because of cunning and charm that were lethal to his enemies. Much of Ragnar Lothbrok lives in Ivar, but much of Ivar The Boneless is also his own.
The "Vikings Season 4" midseason premiere is anticipated to air on History by September at the earliest. Which of these Vikings would you have wanted to be your leader: Ragnar Lothbrok, Ivar The Boneless or Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick)?
