'Homeland' Renewed By Showtime; New Shooting Location Officially Confirmed

"Homeland" fans are thrilled upon hearing one of the greatest news. Showtime recently confirmed that the season will be renewed.

Showtime's original drama "Homeland" is set to stay for two more seasons. The series caught the viewers' attention since its premiere, thus its ratings continually increased. Carrie Mathison [Claire Danes] plays the role of a bi-polar CIA officer. She is set to prove that Nicholas Brody who is portrayed by Damien Lewis is now posed as a threat to the country as he was brainwashed by the enemy.

Showtime is very much pleased with "Homeland's" ratings as it continually increases. This being said TV Line noted that "Homeland" is already set for the series' 8th season. The series is expected to run until 2018, but there are no specific details yet as to how many episodes one season would have.

Showtime may not be an established station yet, but it is slowly being recognized by viewers. With "Homeland's" renewal paves the way for the network station to be widely known among fans.

"Homeland is a show that is constantly reinventing itself... since it's very much about this Intelligence world," Showtime president, David Nevins stated. "More than most, this is a show that has an open-ended expiration date, just because of the subject matter."

"Homeland" focused on Africa and Berlin in terms of their setting for the previous seasons. Deadline then added that the series will be filming in the United States for the series upcoming seasons. The news website then dished out a few spoilers, giving fans a glimpse as to what could possibly happen next.

For "Homeland's" season 6, it was revealed that the characters will be all over New York, wherein the production will start this month. "Homeland" season 6 is set to return to television on January 15, on Showtime. The announcement was confirmed by the Showtime president himself, David Nevins.
