‘Vikings’ Season 4 Air Date, News & Update: Is Ragnar Lothbrok Getting Ready To Say Goodbye? Hatred Culminates In S4 Midseason Premiere

"Vikings Season 4" will reconcile Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and his loyal builder Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard), whose friendship broke down over the Christian monk Athelstan (George Blagden). Although Ragnar Lothbrok and Floki will resume their friendship, "Vikings Season 4" will reportedly see hatred climax for Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland).

Screen Rant cites Entertainment Weekly in reporting that "Vikings" series creator Michael Hirst explained how Ragnar Lothbrok will return to his oldest connections in Season 4. In what chillingly looks like a man settling his final affairs, "Vikings Season 4" will have Ragnar Lothbrok reach out to his surviving beloved friends - Floki and ex-wife Lagertha.

While most of the excitement for "Vikings Season 4" focus on the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok now all grown - Ubbe, Hvitserk, Sigurd and Ivar The Boneless - Michael Hirst will allow the Kattegat King to spend time with his devoted subject Floki.

According to Michael Hirst, "Vikings Season 4" will be the stage when Floki will finally see his King reciprocate the love and friendship he reserved for Ragnar Lothbrok for so many years. "I love you," Ragnark Lothbrok will reportedly finally say to Floki.

The relationship between Ragnar Lothbrok and Floki had been simple love and friendship until Athelstan came along in "Vikings Season 1." Sensing Athelstan unwittingly erode the belief Ragnar Lothbrok held for their Norse gods, Floki grew jealously resentful.

The relationship between Ragnar Lothbrok and Floki will not be the only one that "Vikings Season 4" will bring to a head. According to Michael Hirst, "Vikings Season 4" will also bring the endgame for Lagertha and Aslaug.

Interestingly, Michael Hirst drew the line by likening Ragnar Lothbrok, Lagertha and Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) to the Liberal Party in Viking society. Ragnar Lothbrok, Lagertha and Bjorn are the more progressive "Vikings" series characters, who showed willingness to enter into agreements with Christians.

On the other side are the more rigid Vikings Floki and Aslaug, who cling to the Norse religion and wished for Ivar The Boneless to do the same. Underlying these is the hatred that Lagertha nurtured against Aslaug since the latter seduced Ragnar Lothbrok in "Vikings Season 2."

Projections tag the "Vikings Season 4" premiere for September at the earliest. Do you believe that his reconciliations in "Vikings Season 4" mean that Ragnar Lothbrok is getting ready to say goodbye?
