So they say that creative minds have creative personalities. And Apple CEO Tim Cook has finally straightened things out regarding a personal side to his private life.
Much of social media has gotten intrigued over Cook's revelation as a gay man during an interview. Although Tim Cook has already known for sometime that some individuals (kids in particular) have already known or assumed his real sexuality, it wasn't until writing his 2014 op-ed that he braved coming out publicly, reports the Inquisitr.
Following in the footsteps of known CNN correspondent Anderson Cooper (who came out in 2012), Tim Cook made his huge decision to squash down speculations about his true sexual orientation two years later. As an opening line in his op-ed, he openly declared being gay as one of God's greatest gifts bestowed on him.
Cook further added during the media interview that he was also inspired to come out via notes coming from kids who felt isolated and down because of fear from ending out unaccepted by their own families and other significant people in their lives. These kids saw Tim Cook as an inspiration that time, and the notion prompted the latter to do the same - going ahead unmasked, unafraid, and reveling in the moment of being free.
He also drew more inspiration from the thought of being able to do great things, no matter what sexual orientation anyone is in. "That it's not a limiter. It's okay to be. That it's okay to be honest about it. I figured if I could help one person, it would be worth it," continued Cook.
The Apple CEO solidly affirms that although company sales have seen some downtime over the past few months, he believes that the iPhone's future as Apple's flagship phone still has room for a positive outcome in the long run, says Variety. The iPhone's popularity among mid to high-end users isn't getting the gadget replaced anytime soon, and Tim Cook assures that Apple's transition from better products to far more innovative ones won't fall short of its consumers' expectations as well.
