"New Girl" star Max Greenfield and his wife Tess Sanchez are about to be parents for the second time. The actor, through his representatives, has confirmed the pregnancy to the press.
Max and Tess married in 2008 and are already parents to Lily, who was born two years after. Since her arrival, Greenfield has always embraced his role as a father. He told US Weekly that he brought his daughter to Disneyland for the first time, and Lily apparently went crazy. He also notes that his baby girl is starting to show some signs of independence.
"What's fun to see now is she's really becoming independent, starting the phases of 'hey, 'i'm good dad, leave me alone, I can do this by myself'. It's like 'OK I guess this is happening. I'll see you when you're 26,'" the proud dad shared to the news outlet.
In another interview with "Good Morning America" on ABC, the TV star said that his daughter, now 5 years old, has not yet grasped the fact that her father is quite popular. "I don't know that she fully gets it. She knows that I'm on a TV show, she'll be like, 'Daddy you play Schmidt,'" the actor, who does play Schmidt in the Fox comedy series, muses about her daughter's reaction.
"But there's another part, that's like, 'Just stay away from that as long as you can.' But she seems unfazed by it," Greenfield added.
With a new baby coming, little Lily will have someone to induct into the Max Greenfield fan club pretty soon. But right now, as Tess' belly is growing, Greenfield is keeping busy working on his TV show. The actor and his co-stars are still on the set despite the season being almost over. It's only because "New Girl" has to accommodate lead star Zooey Deschanel's pregnancy as well, according to the Daily Mail.
In March, their network announced that the series was going to return for a fifth season in the fall. But since Deschanel is due to birth in the summer, they have to film earlier than planned. In the same Daily Mail report, it was revealed that Deschanel's pregnancy will not be written into the script.
The actor is ecstatic about his co-star's pregnancy. "It was exciting! We all found out at the same time on set and it was just like, 'Oh my God!'" the actor exclaimed in the US Weekly report.
