We are still several months away from the much-anticipated television premiere of "Scandal" season 6. However, it didn't stop the Gladiator fans to be excited over the premiere as new details about the show have recently circulated.
Earlier this week, Entertainment Weekly exclusively learned that "Scandal" season 6 will be skipping out the campaign and will follow the events on the night of the election. Even though many have expected the upcoming season will dwell more on the 2016 U.S. Election, creator Shonda Rhimes explained they won't wasting much time in delving deeper into the craziness of the election season.
"We are basically going to start our season on election night," Rhimes told Entertainment Weekly, as per iDigitalTimes. "Yes, it is going to play into our season, but we're not going to spend our time playing an election."
Since "Scandal" season 6 will kick off on election night, fans will finally know who the next president and vice president will be. However, it remains uncertain if the victors will come from the Republican camp with Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) and Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) as the next president and vice president in the series.
Or perhaps, people will go in favor of Democratic presidential hopeful Francisco Vargas (Ricardo Chavira) and vice presidential nominee Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) in "Scandal" season 6? In addition, fans might also have an opportunity to know if Jake will finally get the chance to run away with Olivia (Kerry Washington) to pursue living a peaceful life.
Unfortunately, the Jake-Olivia love team will face a challenge in "Scandal" season 6 as Liv's ex-flame and former President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) will pursue Liv once again. But according to Christian Post, the former lovers aren't on the same page anymore when it comes to their feelings as Liv has already made a choice and it's Jake.
Meanwhile, "Scandal" season 6 has been delayed to early 2017 because of Washington's pregnancy with her second child. In addition, Christian Times also revealed that due to Washington's pregnancy, the series' 22 episodes this season was reduced to 16.
As for "Scandal" season 6 air date, the upcoming season is set to premiere on Feb. 11 at 9 p.m. on ABC. Are you excited for the new season of "Scandal?" Share your thoughts below and follow Parent Herald for more news and updates.
