'Real Housewives of Orange County' News: Jeana Keough Says She Left Show To Save Soul, Says Bravo Franchise Is Based On Her

The former "Real Housewives of Orange County" star Jeana Keough said that she quit the show in order to save her soul. She also said that she is one of the people who helped launch the Bravo TV series, which has many versions in different states all over the United States, and is the original housewife whom the reality series is based on.

Keough is now away from the cameras and she revealed in a recent interview that she is very happy with her decision. E! News reported that Keough appeared on the Saturday night episode of "Oprah: Where Are They Now" and the star, who is now a successful realtor after doing away with the reality star stint, looked back at the series full of drama.

She told Oprah Winfrey that she quit "Real Housewives of Orange County" because it became not so favorable for her. She pointed out that among all the other housewives, she was the only one who knew how to behave in front of the cameras. Keough said that she does not think she missed out on anything when she left "Real Housewives of Orange County."

Keough added, "I felt like it kind of saved my soul a little bit because Vicki is so sad. How she's portrayed and how her boyfriend's portrayed and I would never want to be that sad." She was referring to Vicki Gunvalson.

The former "Real Housewives of Orange County" reality star also dished that the drama between her and Tamra Judge, which was the season 6 finale of the show wherein the latter threw wine on Keough, was done for the cameras.

The 60-year-old former model and actress also shared that the producer of the "Real Housewives" franchise, Scott Dunlop, originally wrote the show based on her family, Daily Mail reported. She and Dunlop lived next to each other in the gated community of Coto De Caza.

She revealed that Dunlop started filming her and her family then sent it to Bravo. After that, Bravo signed the other original "Real Housewives of Orange County" Jo De La Rosa, Kimberly Bryant, Lauri Peterson, and Gunvalson.
