Kate Middleton Baby Photos: Did Family Take Home Royal Baby Too Soon? [POLL]

On May 2, 2015 at 8: 34 a.m., Duchess Kate Middleton gave birth via normal delivery to a baby girl, who weighed 8 lb 3 oz. The official announcement was made via Kensington Palace on social media. The whole world rejoiced because everyone wanted this birth to be a princess, thereby making the surprise a pleasant news.

Ten hours later, the Duchess surprised everyone again when she walked out of the hospital doors carrying the royal baby in her arms. Looking fresh and made-up, she greeted the press and the public with her husband, Prince William, beside her. They happily showed their second baby to the world.

How did Middleton manage to walk out of the hospital looking stunning in her pretty yellow dress and heels when she had just given birth hours before? This was the question in everyone's mind. It seemed so unbelievable that according to Mirror, a Kremlin newspaper drew its own conclusion and said that the royal birth was faked. Apparently, its readers believed the Duchess have given birth days ago.

"She is at least three days old. There is nothing which would help a woman, even if she gave birth with the help of best doctors, stand up five hours after giving birth - and leave the clinic on her feet," said one observer to the news outlet. On the British Monarchy's official Facebook Page, one commenter said, "She had her baby Saturday morning and went home that afternoon. Boy, have things changed!"

In a News.Com.Au report, a spokesperson for the Australian Medical Association Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr. Gino Pecoraro, said that there are some risks to early discharge after giving birth. "There are some studies showing that early hospital discharge is one of the factors in breastfeeding not continuing long-term, and it has been linked to an increased risk of post-natal depression," said the doctor.

While Princess Kate is certain to have received the best care, Dr. Pecoraro hopes that this will not be something mothers everywhere intend to follow. "One of the reasons why women traditionally stay in hospital for three or four days, is because cardiac murmurs don't present till a few days after birth," he adds.

However, the Australian College of Midwives considers a six-hour hospital stay sufficient after the birth. "Hospitals are places that are good if you're sick, but if you're not sick, you're better off at home," said the group's spokesperson Caroline Homer. "The way Kate looked (outside the hospital), it's clear she's very well," added Homer.
