Neve Campbell Talks about Son Caspian

Actress Neve Campbell welcomed her first child five months back. However, up until this week, the new mom and her boyfriend, actor JJ Feild kept mum about their bundle of joy.

Breaking her long silence, the "Scream" star appeared on CBS' talk show "The Talk" on Christmas Eve and opened up about her infant son, Caspian, and the reasons behind choosing his name.

Before their baby's birth, Campbell and Feild took great effort in selecting a unique name.

"We looked through a lot of books and I liked the idea of a unique name," Campbell told People magazine. "I like having a unique name - it's [my mom's] maiden name, Neve - and not a lot of people have it. It's nice having something special and different and so I wanted something like that for our son."

The couple shortlisted five names and decided to wait until the baby's birth to take a final decision.

"We decided that we'd wait and see and meet him and then decide," Campbell said. "And ... when he was born we realized we could only remember one and that was Caspian, so it seemed like it was right."

Campbell, who has been married twice before, confirmed expecting a child with partner Feild in March 2012.

"They are thrilled," Campbell's rep confirmed the news to People.

However, the couple didn't announce their child's arrival. The media came to know about the birth only when the new parents were spotted with their newborn in L.A. in August, Us Weekly reported.

The 39-year-old Canadian actress who is well-known for her roles in TV series "Party of Five" started her career with a 1991 Coca-Cola commercial. Apart from that, Campbell has also acted in films like "The Craft", "Wild Things", "Panic" and "The Company".
