Wayward Pines" Season 3 has a bleak proposition for the Fox hit series - a triumph of the Aberrations or Abbies over humans. "Wayward Pines" trilogy author and Fox series executive producer Blake Crouch explained a Season 2 finale shocker by highlighting that evolution cannot be reversed.
In the "Wayward Pines" Season 2 finale, CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou) was last seen initiating cryogenic sleep for Rebecca Yedlin (Nimrat Kaur), Xander Beck (Josh Helman), Arlene Moran (Siobhan Fallon Hogan), Lucy (Emma Tremblay), Frank Armstrong (Michael Garza) and Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric). Outside the fence, one of the closing "Wayward Pines" shots had an Abbie carrying what seemed like a human child.
However, Bustle cites Blake Crouch in highlighting that fans of the Fox series should not conclude that the baby the Abbie was cradling at the "Wayward Pines" Season 2 finale was human. "Wayward Pines" Season 3 will instead show the baby and its generation to be neither human nor Abbie.
With a new breed joining the Abbies in "Wayward Pines" Season 3, the end of the human race seems inevitable. Yet, Blake Crouch says such a situation is precisely what he and co-executive producer M. Night Shyamalan would like to explore in "Wayward Pines" Season 3.
Faced with an eclipsed future for mankind "Wayward Pines" Season 3 will show if the awakening humans will respond with despair, escapism or hope. /Film cites a gander by Fox Broadcasting CEO Dana Walden that most of the characters seen at "Wayward Pines" Season 2 finale will be returning for S3.
Parent Herald cites reports that a return by Adam Hassler (Tim Griffin), who was last seen going into the Abbie world after "Wayward Pines" killed off Theresa Burke (Shannyn Sossamon) is hoped for. One wonders though if Kerry Campbell (Kacey Rohl) could return in "Wayward Pines" Season 3.
Granted Kerry Campbell made like a hero in the "Wayward Pines" Season 2 finale, injecting herself with diseases and going out of the fence to infect the Abbies. But "Wayward Pines" Season 3 suggests that the Abbies will survive this attack and Kerry Campbell may be back in one form or another.
If Fox commits to "Wayward Pines" Season 3, the premiere is anticipated for 2017. Do you think that "Wayward Pines" Season 3 could save the Fox series?
