Movie lovers were delighted as it was recently announced that "Brokeback Mountain" will be having a remake. It was announced that Margot Robbie and Emma Watson will star in the upcoming movie.
News circulated online that Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Leger's gay film, "Brokeback Mountain." It was then added that the remake would make it to the big screen by next year as it is set to make its premiere by 2017.
According to The Portly Gazelle, the River Road Entertainment confirmed the "Brokeback Mountain" remake. The storyline would be the same as the original film, wherein two female leads, Emma Watson and Margot Robbie will be lovers. The film will have the same setting which is somewhere in the rural part of the United States. Other than the gender differences, it was noted that almost everything will still the same.
The website them mentioned that Emma Watson opened up about her role, as she expressed her excitement. She then added that she finds the script delightfully challenging.
"I am honored and blessed to get the opportunity to play a character very different from myself," Emma Watson told the news website. I think taking on personas with completely different experiences than yourself is what acting is at its core. From what I've seen, the script and the other people involved with this, I think we're going to make a marvelous film."
As for Margot Robbie on the other hand, the "Suicide Squad" actress reportedly stated that she wanted to give justice to Heath Leger's role. She then added that it means a lot to star for "Brokeback Mountain."
"As an Australian actor, this obviously means a lot to me," Margot Robbie added. "I hope to do the Heath Ledgers' role justice."
Though the "Brokeback Mountain" remake may sound enticing, Morning Ledger noted that the news was a hoax, as it is indeed too good to be true. There is no confirmation coming from both actresses yet, and no follow-up reports were provided.
