Ashton Kutcher just topped everyone's Mother's Day gift and his mom is surely over the moon about it.
The 37-year-old actor asked the help of Houzz, a design site, to renovate the house he grew up in. He said that it had been a "lifelong dream" of his to fix the Iowa house for his mother, Diane, as a thank you for all her sacrifices.
"My mom has been the greatest influence in my life-my parents gave me everything. They went to great sacrifices to give me the life that I have and anything I can do to say thank you is the right thing," said the actor in the video series posted on the design site, which documented the whole renovation process.
The new dad and Mila Kunis' beau recalled how the house was "built from scratch" when he was just in his teens. He recounts how he helped his stepfather, Mark, do the project, and adds that it had become their great bonding activity together.
"Mark stepped in and a lot of ways was there for me in ways my dad couldn't be there for me. I'm one of those people in this world who's lucky enough to have two dads," Kutcher adds in the video.
The renovation took only 27 days to complete, according to E! Online, with the basement torn down so that they could redo the area completely. The team then raised the ceiling's height as well as introduced more natural lighting into the house.
Kutcher and his team also added many child-sized bunk beds, according to Daily Mail, as the actor envisions that this newly-renovated area will be where his own daughter, Wyatt Isabelle, and his nephew will be spending a lot of their time. He is expecting his mother will have plenty of grandkids running around inside the house in the future.
Everything was kept a secret from Diane who hardly suspected anything since she was in Ashton's Beverly Hills home taking care of the baby at that time the renovation was being done.
"I went to visit Ashton and the new baby and they decided they needed me to stay out there for a little while to help. And I come, and this is what I find. It does mean a lot to me, it's beautiful," remarked Ashton's mother, as reported by People Magazine.
