Jessa Duggar is expecting her second baby with her husband Ben Seewald and the news was confirmed after rumors swirled saying that the reality star looked like she was trying to conceal a baby bump in some of her photos. However, one of the concerns that fans are raising is the possibility that she might have contracted Zika virus since they have been out of the United States for their missionary work.
Jessa's sister, Jill Duggar and her husband Derrick Dillard, have been in El Salvador in the past months and this means Jessa is at risk of being infected with the virus. Jessa is due in February meaning they conceived around May, which was months after they visited Jill and Dillard in El Salvador, The Hollywood Gossip Cop reported.
El Salvador is one of the hot spots for the mosquito-borne Zika virus. Zika virus could also be spread via sexual intercourse or thru the transfer of bodily fluids. The mosquito responsible for the spread of Zika virus is the Aedes mosquito. They cold reportedly breed in just a bottle cap of standing water. The World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have advised pregnant women to stay away from countries that are suffering from the Virus and even went on to suggest that women should wait to get pregnant in order to avoid the risks of the disease.
Zika Virus in the United States is basically brought in by travelers who went to countries that are infested with the virus. However, cases of "homegrown" Zika virus have also started to increase in some states in the United States.
In the new season of the TLC special "Jill and Jessa: Counting On," many are asking if they will see Jessa discussing the matter. Inquisitr reported that the latest season of "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" recently premiered earlier this week and it showed Jinger Duggar officially being courted by her now fiancé Jeremy Vuolo.
Jessa is yet to comment on the matter.
