"Skate 4" is all set to develop soon after an online petition by the fans. The production may begin after the fans of the game urged Electronics Art (EA) to work on the sequel. However, it will be a little late and may not begin during this year. At the same time it is allegedly reported that EA is way too focused on other titles as of now.
After the online petition, "Skate 4" became one of the most anticipated video games in 2016. However, EA has not made any announcement on the same. They have not officially announced if they will commence working on the same or not. The fans of "Skate 4" believe that there will be a formal announcement that will be made at the end of 2016 or in the beginning of 2017, reported Movie News Guide.
There are rumors that EA is moving away from an update of "Skate 3" because of the low performance on the game. The fans have been a quite restless when the and then one fan who is a YouTube user, started an online petition to convince EA to create "Skate 4." The petition even requested the request of White House. The petition is aimed at acquiring 100,000 signatures so that EA starts making the update. It is reported that the petition even requests President Barack Obama to act on it. The petition included a video, titled "Obama Make Skate 4." This added to the hype, reported The BitBag.
On a flip side, it is reported that "Skate 4" would not be released for a while. The sequel will not be coming out any time soon. At Gamescon 2016, EA did not feature "Skate 4" in the list that the company was working on. EA appreciates the passion for "Skate 4" game, however, they might not be considering the update very soon. EA is looking for more feedbacks from the fans so as to take a decision on the game's update.
EA is going to make "Skate 3" Xbox One backwards compatible. An update and the making of "Skate 4" will be determined based on the performance of the game. EA feels that the concept of a game based on a skateboarding genre is not as popular as it was 10 years ago. Even with a few skateboard games like "Tony Hawk's Pro Skate 5" in the market, the passion is not rekindled. This would have made EA focus on other genres that are in demand.
