Jennifer Lopez' Home & Other LA Celebrity Houses Wasting Water Amidst California Drought?

Famous celebs are reportedly not helping in improving the environments surrounding their homes especially in light of California's drought season. Celebs in Los Angeles are allegedly not minimizing their current landscaping projects. This comes in the midst of predictions of less than a year's water supply to prevail in California's reservoir before 2015 ends, according to Daily Mail.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's neighbor in the Los Angeles suburban neighborhood, Hidden Hills, revealed to The New York Post that the "Kardashian flowers and hedges are right in our face." The neighbor described, "It's disgusting. You walk by and you can smell the freshness."

Kim confessed that she has only been washing her hair in the shower every five days due to the prevalent drought within the state. According to the 34-year-old reality star, this decision might be called "a little excessive, maybe."

In addition to Kardashian's home, the houses of Jennifer Lopez and heiress, Petra Eccelstone, have visibly wasted water within their surroundings as well. Paying a $100 fine for wasting water does not break the pocketbooks of these celebs as they seem to not mind paying the said penalty to keep their green fluorescent lawns, according to Daily Mail.

J. Lo., for one, has had her attention called about the water wasted in her home's surroundings. Word has it the singer-actress was encouraged to modify the landscaping projects within her home's premises. However, an insider revealed to The New York Post that "she [Lopez] has been pretty dismissive. She has said, 'Oh, so I'll just pay some fines, what are they going to do?'"

Meanwhile, singer Barbra Streisand's spokesperson reportedly revealed to The New York Post that her client reduced home water usage by more than 50 percent. However, her water-filled pool and trimmed manicured lawn sure does not speak of this fact, according to Daily Mail.

Other celebs in Hollywood have shared their efforts to conserve water in preparation for the California drought. Cameron Diaz said, "Only when I do number two, I flush. If it's yellow leave it mellow; if it's brown flush it down."

X-Factor judge, Sharon Osbourne said, "When I pee, I don't flush."

California governor, Jerry Brown, enforced a provision calling for a 36 percent reduction of water usage within the state in response to the prevalent drought. The governor vowed to work on the proposal of enforcing a new legislation for a $10,000 water waste fine, instead of $100.
