"FNAF" fans have been waiting for its movie adaptation for quite a while now. However, due to lack of updates, some are concerned if the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie is still coming up. According to reports, yes, fans will still see "Five Nights at Freddy's" in the big screens but the film could be a flop.
The success of "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise spawned a spin-off game, book and a film adaptation. Despite the lack of updates, the "FNAF" film is coming. Scott Cawthon revealed earlier that he is working with director Gil Kenan, who is set to helm the horror film.
Director Gil Kenan also shared some posts on his social account, which made fans think that he was already working on the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie. In one post, he shared the controversial "Bite of 87." Check it out below.
However, others are not as enthusiastic when it comes to the "FNAF" movie. In fact, per the Bigbag, the upcoming "Five Nights at Freddy's" film could be a huge flop. Per the report, most video game movies today hardly impress the audience. For instances, the "Assassin's Creed" film trailer was interesting but fans were turned off with Kanye West's music on it.
Overall, the movies adapted from video games rarely compares to the success of the previous video games that also hit the big screens like "Resident Evil." The "Resident Evil" movie series spawned six films all in all, with one, "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" coming out next year.
Per the report, the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie might fall short in dominating the blockbuster when it hits the big screens due to its unusual arrangement. A standard film has a three-act narrative: beginning, middle and end.
Unfortunately, the "FNAF" games don't follow this. Thus, the "Five Nights at Freddy's" viewers might go out in theaters unsatisfied. All the more, those who are not familiar with the "FNAF" gameplay might end up confused after watching the film.
The "Five Nights at Freddy's" gameplay usually follow the perspective of someone in the first person. This could be the guard in the pizza restaurant or someone else in the movie who will be haunted by the animatronics.
