If Majority of Teens Respect the Bible, Then Why Are Most American Teens Still Living In Immorality?

Where do American teens set their allegiance to nowadays? Do they still respect the Bible as the ultimate authority in their lives? With the current situation of immorality and self-centered attitude of the youth of today, would you believe that seven out of ten teens still respect the Bible?

Study says that 86 percent of teens still respect the Bible. It further presented that 47 percent of teens who are between ages 13 and 17 say that the Bible is a source of hope, with 35 percent of them saying that the Bible should be every person's guide to have a meaningful life. Other findings state that 63 percent of teens are reading the Bible at least once a year and then 44 percent do read it three or four times a year.

For a real Christian and follower of Jesus, it is said reading the scriptures is like feeding your soul. Hence, if you read it for just a few times a year, then it means you are making the soul "malnourished". Hence, the statistics coming from the study may be just a limitation to belief and not faith that gives fruits. Believing or respecting is not enough, as belief should lead to Christ-like actions, thinking, and speaking.

If the American youth believes that the ultimate authority in life is the Word of God, then why are juvenile crimes still high? Why is school violence getting worse? And why is teen pregnancy a great problem in this nation?

Perhaps it is not just about saying "Yes the Bible is right". Teens should stand on their ground and let such belief manifest in their own lives. Their lifestyle should be a proof that their respect for the Bible is not merely for statistics use but as a real mark of their eternal destiny.
