The acclaimed horror fiction novel, "Let The Right One In," by Swedish writer John Ajvide Lindqvist, will have its own TV adaptation on TNT. The show is currently being written by Teen Wolf and Criminal minds creator, Jeff Davis, along with an ensemble production team of TV's best writers.
"Let The Right One In," the Swedish novel by Lindqvist about a young boy named Oskar, who is often bullied at school, that befriends a girl that turns out to be a century-old vampire that terrorizes the town of Blackberg, Sweden, named Eli. The two become neighbors and develop a close bond with each other, with Oskar accepting that Eli is a blood-thirsty vampire.
The novel was well received globally, and after spawning two movies, the Swedish version "Let The Right One In" and the American adaptation starring Chloe Grace Moretz, called "Let Me In," as well as a stage play, the horror story will now be adapted for the small screen. Jeff Davis is currently at the helm of the new project, and has written the pilot episode for the show for TNT.
The announcement of Davis writing the script for the new "Let The Right One In" series came after it was revealed that "Teen Wolf" will have it's last season in 2017, according to Variety, as Davis will now have more time to focus on a brand new series.
Also working on "Let The Right One In" are producers are Marty Adelstein who also worked on "Teen Wolf" and "Prison Break," Becky Clements of "Last Man Standing," Simon Oakes of Hammer Studios, Carl Molinder who produced the original screenplay, and Alex Brunner from "Dark Places." With a heck of a production team, "Let The Right One In" is looking out to be a good show.
According to Collider, the dark and gory vibe of the novel and subsequent film adaptations might be toned down to cater to TNT's audience. There is still no confirmed release date for "Let The Right One In."
