"Wayward Pines" Season 3 expands on the original trilogy by author Blake Crouch about humans and Aberrations (Abbies) and could see the death of Dr Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) and CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou) among the S3 cast. "Wayward Pines" cast change would not be out of place if Season 3 takes the Fox series into a time jump of a few thousand years.
Bustle proposes that "Wayward Pines" Season 3 cast could follow the trend of S1 characters. Although Blake Crouch told Entertainment Weekly that S3 would bring back "Wayward Pines" Season 2 characters, Bustle points out that returning cast as Dr Theo Yedlin and CJ Mitchum could meet untimely deaths.
As it is, "Wayward Pines" Season 3 is expected to bring a slew of new characters alongside S2 favorites. This is especially so because "Wayward Pines" Season 3 will see a new breed rise among Abbies and the newly awakened humans.
The evolved Abbies were first seen in the "Wayward Pines" Season 2 finale, "Bedtime Story," where an Abbie was seen cradling what seemed to be a human baby. However, according to Blake Crouch, the new breeds are neither humans nor Abbiess.
However, since co-executive producers Blake Crouch and M. Night Shyamalan say that thrust of "Wayward Pines" Season 3 is to explore human behavior at the brink of their extinction, the evolved Abbies will be one more enemy race from which humans must survive.
"Wayward Pines" Season 3 should prove interesting as Indiewire reports that Djimon Hounsou highlights similarities between real life and the Fox series. As the humans in "Wayward Pines" are responsible for their doom so is mankind in real life.
"Wayward Pines" Season 3 air date announcements are yet to be made. Meanwhile which of the Fox series characters would you want to return in "Wayward Pines" Season 3?
