'Arrow' Season 5 Cast News, Spoilers & Air Date: Stephen Amell Criticizes Philippine Rip-Off On Social Media?

It is a month before we see "Arrow" season 5 back in television and fans are excited. "Arrow" season 5, which will see Stephen Amell returning to don the Green Arrow costume once again, is currently in development in what is seen as a bid to regain its audience after season to season decline in ratings in recent years. In the last episode of the previous "Arrow" season, Oliver (Stephen Amell) was appointed as the Mayor while the other members of the team moved on for new lives.

Before the premiere of "Arrow" season 5, though, Amell is in a bit of controversy. Amell seemingly called out Filipino television network GMA on Wednesday after a teaser released for its upcoming show "Alyas Robin Hood" (translated: Also Known As Robin Hood) bore striking similarities with "Arrow" and the superhero show's previous seasons, Inquirer Technology reported. Amell only placed a shocked emoji in the caption in what looks like a criticism of the clip.

In other "Arrow" season 5 news, "The Walking Dead" Chad L. Coleman is said to be making his debut on the show in the first episode of the season, IGN reported. He will play the recurring role of Tobias Church, a gangster who will unite various criminal units and enterprises in Star City under his wing. This could mean that Church could serve as the main villain for "Arrow" season 5.

The premiere episode of "Arrow" season 5 will air on Wednesday, October 5, at 8 pm ET on the CW. Parent Herald will be covering "Arrow" season 5 in the coming weeks as we prepare for the "Arrow" season 5 premiere.

Are you excited to watch "Arrow" season 5 on television? Was Stephen Amell right in possibly criticizing the new show? Parent Herald is looking forward to your comments. Meanwhile, watch the preview trailer for "Arrow" season 5 in the video below.
